Link
This is a system module for inserting a menu item-link-internet address into the website's structure tree.
Basic Module Functionality
Insertion, management in the structure tree, etc.
It is inserted by administrators into the website tree through the creation menu in the website structure section or by selecting "Create sub-item" in the contextual menu of the structure tree management (see).
It can be inserted into any branch of the website tree.
The number of insertions is not limited.
Each insertion has its own settings, independent of any other insertion.
Module Management and Other Functionality
In the editing of the inserted link module, you can:
Enter the name of the menu item;
Select the parent item, i.e., the branch in which the current module is located.
Enter an alternative name for creating addresses. When entered, it will be used instead of the one generated from the menu item's name.
Enter a CMS name/comment. It will be visible as a small blue marker on the item in the menu tree branches.
Enter or assign a link.
The entered address can be full, starting with https://, etc., or it can be partial if the link is to the current website, e.g., /en/news/.
By unchecking "Use a custom link instead of system ones," you can select a link to a system website address from a list, e.g., to the "privacy policy," or assign a link to an item in the menu tree branch or its entry.
The option to choose whether the link opens in the same window or a new one.
Module operation on the frontend (what website visitors see)
The link module is visible to visitors as a menu tree item. When a visitor clicks on such an item, the link entered by the administrator will be opened.
Additional Information and Recommendations
It is recommended that links to other websites always open in a new window. This way, visitors will remain on the website and can continue to browse it without needing to press the browser's back button.
