Form
Form
This is a system module for inserting an item into the menu tree that can contain text (editable via RTE) and an online form for visitors to fill out.
Basic Module Functionality
Insertion, management in the structure tree, etc.
It is inserted by administrators into the website tree through the creation menu item in the website structure or by selecting "Create sub-item" in the context menu of the structure tree management (see).
It can be inserted into any branch of the website tree.
The number of insertions is not limited.
Each insertion has its own settings and content independent of other insertions.
Module Management and Other Functionality
When editing an inserted form module, you can:
Enter the menu item name.
Select the parent item, i.e., the branch where the current module is located.
Enter a heading. The heading is visible to visitors when they access this page. If no heading is entered, the menu item name is displayed to visitors instead (see above).
Enter an alternative name for creating addresses. When entered, it will be used instead of the one generated from the menu item name.
Enter a CMS name/comment. It will be visible as a small blue marker on the item in the menu tree branches.
Enter a form summary, which has its own RTE. The summary can be used.
Enter the main form text using the RTE. By inserting the program variable {FORM} into the RTE, website visitors will see the form fields in that location.
Enter a form heading (optional). It will appear above the form fields if the {FORM} variable is not used.
Enter the recipient's email address for the form letters, or several of them separated by a comma (required). The filled-out forms will be sent to these email addresses.
Enter additional SEO fields:
Additional browser window title.
Short description.
Keywords.
View the list of form fields and the link “Create form field” (see below).
Using the form field copying tool, copy form fields from other forms already on the website, thus speeding up form editing.
List of form fields, creation, and editing of a new field.
The “List of form fields” section displays a list of already created fields. The list shows:
The name of the form field.
The type of the form field.
Whether the form field is mandatory for visitors to fill out.
Management of the form field order - the ability to “move” a field to a different position.
A link (icon) leading to the editing of a specific field (see below).
A link (icon) that deletes a specific form field.
Next to the list of form fields, there is a link “Create form field”; the same functionality as in creating a new field is also available by clicking “Edit” on an existing field. On the creation/editing page, you can:
Enter/edit the name of the form field.
Enter/edit the type of the form field:
Type “Line” - single-line text, e.g., “Name”.
Type “Text” - multi-line text, e.g., a visitor's question in free form.
Enter/edit the comment for the form field. This is the text that appears on the website below the form field. It is intended to warn visitors or to clarify what information is requested from the visitor in this field.
Choose whether the form field is mandatory for visitors to fill out.
Emails to administrators and more.
The form values entered and submitted by website visitors are sent to the entered recipient email addresses for the form letters (see above).
The content of the received email includes the following main information:
The fields filled out by the visitor.
The submission date.
The IP address of the visitor who filled out the form.
The visual design of the email and other information visible in the email are standardized across all CMS installations and are adapted to the colors and style of the specific project.
Module Operation on the Frontend (What Website Visitors See)
Visitors who go to the website's form page see the form fields and other information entered by the administrators. When filling out the form fields, it is mandatory to fill in the fields marked as required in the CMS. If mandatory fields are not filled out or are filled out incorrectly, an error message is displayed when trying to submit the form.
In addition to the fields created by administrators, visitors must correctly enter a control code (or another control measure if one is introduced in the future).
After correctly filling everything out and clicking the “Send” button, the visitor sees a message about the successful submission of the form.
Extended Functionality (Installed Individually)
The option to have form field types for broader form usage:
Type “Section Title” - a heading that can separate logical blocks of form fields in the form.
Type “Checkbox” - the ability to check a box, e.g., “I agree”.
Type “Dropdown List” - selecting a value from a dropdown list.
Type “Multiple Selections from a List” - the ability to check several boxes for multiple options.
Type “File Attachment”. Within a single form, when sending via standard means (without SMTP), the total weight of files should not exceed 2.5MB. When using SMTP, up to 4MB. The technology used is chosen by the system clients.
Type “Date” - the ability to select a date from a calendar, e.g., date of birth. The calendar uses the browser's internal functionality, so its appearance may differ in different browsers.
Type “Future Date” - the ability to select a future date from a calendar, e.g., the desired visit date. The ability to select past dates is blocked. The calendar uses the browser's internal functionality, so its appearance may differ in different browsers.
Type “Email” - a single-line form field with special validation to check for the @ symbol and a domain extension “.xx” (a dot plus at least 2 domain letters).
Type “Phone” - a single-line form field with special validation to check if the entered characters are numbers and if there are at least 9 of them.
“Incognito Forms”. In the CMS editing window of an installed form, an option appears to specify that the form is anonymous. This means that IP addresses or any other data of the form filler that could lead to the sender are not collected or sent to the administrators. This is done as far as the website and CMS are concerned. Server or other data that the CMS developers cannot control may remain unchanged.
The ability for administrators to receive the filled form fields in PDF format and in the body of the email.
