Security settings
Security Settings
Basic Module Functionality
Installation and Location in the Admin Environment
The functionality is installed by the website developers. It is a set of CMS tools designed to enhance website security.
The security settings page is accessed by clicking the icon in the main navigation tools (see).
Management and Other Functionality
The security settings page is divided into two parts.
The SSL settings at the top of the page allow you to see the status of the SSL certificate assigned to the website and manage it - enable/disable the assigned certificate. If the project is on the developers' servers, an expired certificate is disabled automatically.
In the IP restriction section:
The option to enter allowed IP addresses. To restrict access to the CMS from unknown addresses, enter the allowed IPs separated by a comma. Using an asterisk (*) as a wildcard for an address segment is allowed, e.g., (192.168.0.*).
If the “Restrict CMS login by IP” field is left empty, logging into the CMS will be allowed from all IP addresses.
Frontend Operation (What Website Visitors See)
SSL is visible in the website's address, and if the site has an SSL certificate, many browsers will indicate this with an icon or text stating that the site is secure. The effect of IP restriction can only be seen when trying to access the editing login window. If IP restriction is enabled and the visitor's IP does not match the allowed IPs, login will not be permitted.
Additional Information and Recommendations
SSL is an electronic document that helps website visitors identify the site's identity and encrypts the information sent between the visitor and the server. Visitors trust websites with SSL certificates more - it's a guarantee of data security, essential wherever personal customer data is used. We suggest purchasing certificates on the website.
