Calendar
Calendar
Basic Module Functionality
Installation and Location in Admin Environment
This is a website module that works together with the module and is managed in the CMS from this module's article editing page. The module is installed by the website developers.
Management and Other Functionality
Calendar management on the article editing page:
Option to mark an article as included in the calendar.
Option to mark when the event starts and ends (days).
Frontend Functionality (What Website Visitors See)
Two parts of the calendar module are visible on the website.
A small calendar, installed by the website developers in predetermined locations on the site or in the layers module by selecting "Calendar" from the "Block Type" dropdown menu. In it:
The current month is displayed by default.
Ability to view past and future months.
Days with calendar entries assigned to them are marked with distinct colors.
Hovering over a day with an entry displays a tooltip with the entries, which are links to the articles assigned to the calendar.
The number of daily entries and the event's duration are visible.
A list of calendar entries (which can also be inserted into the layers module by selecting a setting from the dropdown menu), which includes:
A list of entries assigned to the calendar. An entry consists of:
A photograph.
A title.
A short description.
The date or date range ("from-to") of the entry (event/occurrence).
There is an option to see a list of past entries (events/occurrences).
There is an option to see a list of upcoming entries (events/occurrences).
Additional Information and Recommendations
The location of the small calendar on the website is usually determined by the developers, but both the list and the small calendar can be inserted into the layers module. The calendar entries list has a reserved, system address: www.customer-website-domain.com/en/calendar
If there are entries assigned for the current day (when the visitor opens the calendar page), a list of today's ongoing events is displayed upon entering the calendar list. It is assigned a system address: .../en/calendar/present. If there are no entries for the current day, a list of upcoming events is automatically displayed: .../en/calendar/future. If there are no future entries, a list of past events is shown: .../en/calendar/past.
All articles from the modules can be included in the calendar module's lists, regardless of how many and where this module is inserted. This means an article from the general news list, an article from the events list, or a media gallery entry-article from somewhere in the media galleries can be assigned to the calendar.
Extended Functionality (Installed Individually)
New functionality for the calendar section. A calendar with month management is displayed next to the list. The list updates when the month is changed. The small calendar displays events depending on the selected filter (Ongoing, past, upcoming).
Ability to view a specific day's events on separate pages.
